Disneyland is full of hidden treasures. There are unexpected freebies, magical surprises and even Mickey patterns in the layout of the park itself. One hidden treasure that you may not expect to find at Disneyland are the vegan desserts on offer. In fact, there is a great variety of vegan food to be found around the park – but let’s take a closer look at the sweeter treasures.
The first thing you need to know is that there are a ton of mobile snack bars that sell fruit salads, so you will never be far away from a sweet vegan snack. If you want to look a bit further, there are some more exciting desserts to be found.
Everyone likes to cool off with some ice cream and Disneyland has the dairy free variety covered. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor offers all of its recipes with Rice Dream or Tofutti, while the Dole Whip Sorbet and Dole Whip Float in the Tiki Juice Bar can provide you with a more fruit based dessert to cool you down. (Note: Only the fruit flavors are vegan – the vanilla one contains sodium caseinate, a milk derivative.)
If neither of those take your fancy, try a vegan berry sorbet bar and chocolate ice cream bar in California Adventure. Chocolate lovers should also get down to Critter Country for one of their dark or rice milk chocolate bars. They also have vegan cookies for you.
Fans of Beauty and the Beast should not miss out on a Boysen Apple Freeze from Maurice’s Treats. This contains a delicious mix of frozen apple juice and boysenberries topped with passion fruit foam. It is just as delicious as it sounds but be warned that this one is a firm favorite, so you and your beauties might have to wait in a beastly line.
Although not technically a dessert, a coffee will give you the energy you need to enjoy the rest of your day. You can pick up any of the espresso drinks at the Jolly Holiday Bakery & Cafe with soy milk.
